Attention Elementary Families,
There will be no elementary music performance on May 6th. The 5th graders will have a performance on another date. Information has been shared with 5th grade families. All other grades will have a recorded performance sent home later in May, but there will not be a live performance for 4K-4th Grade.

Work is progressing on our Weight Room makeover. Thank you to EVERYONE is who is helping make this project a reality......ESPECIALLY our generous DONORS, Mr. Senoraske, Tom and his maintenance staff.
The wall is down. Painting is in progress. Tile and flooring are soon to be installed and equipment is being ordered.
We can't wait!

Did you know that National Honor Society Applications are soon due for all eligible members? Mrs. Crosby spoke with all 10-12 graders eligible and also sent two emails to encourage those students to apply. Once students are applied and approved, there will be an induction/awards ceremony held on May 5th at 6pm in the elementary library. Thank you to everyone who helped with the process of securing a new principal. He has big shoes to fill. Again, congratulations to Mr. Porter on your retirement and thank you for your 21 years of leadership.
The board conducted final interviews of the three candidates last night. The board unanimously passed a motion to offer a contract to Chris Stalheim.
Chris is currently the assistant principal (3 years) at Black River Falls High School. Chris comes to us with 25+years of experience in public education in the Blair-Taylor and Black River Falls School Districts. He has Bachelors, Masters, and Specialist degrees from Winona State University. He was a middle and high school Science, Chemistry and Physics teacher, Technology Integrator, and had some experience as a Library Media Specialist prior to becoming an Assistant Principal.
Please give Chris Stalheim a warm Lake Holcombe welcome!

Thank you to the members of the Principal Interview Committee. We held initial interviews yesterday.
Six candidates were interviewed. The finalists are as follows:
Chris Stalheim - Current Assistant Principal at Black River Falls High School with additional experience as a Science teacher, Educator Effectiveness Coach, and Technology Integrator.
Kirk Yudes - Current Band Director at Ladysmith with additional experience as Dean of Students, Summer School Director, and 21st Century Grant Coordinator.
Matt Dommer - Current Virtual Education Coordinator at Bloomer Elementary with additional experience as a 4th grade teacher and teacher leader in his school.
The Board of Education will hold final interviews with these three finalists on Wednesday night in hopes of making a selection and final approval at their April 26 board meeting.

The students at Lake Holcombe will be walking around the neighborhoods of Lake Holcombe and Barney town to do an Earth Day Clean-Up. Please have children come to school with reflective or high visibility clothing and gloves.

STRENGTH BY NUMBERS: Lake Holcombe students from Mr. Senoraske's weight lifting class reached significant milestones this year; and they keep getting stronger. To recognize their efforts, students earned a sweat towel, hat or shirt depending on the club they made. Three major lifts are added for a total: Deadlift, Bench, and Hang-Clean. Great job and keep it up!
